About Dr. Reza Ojaghi
Reza Ojaghi, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and joint preservation. He practices at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) in Plattsburgh, New York, where he cares for athletes and active individuals at all levels.
Dr. Ojaghi completed his Sports Medicine Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital/Weill Cornell, training under internationally recognized leaders in orthopedic surgery. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Ottawa and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Calgary. During his fellowship, he also served as an assistant team physician for the Houston Astros (MLB), Houston Texans (NFL), Rice University Athletics, and Manvel Mavericks High School football.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Ojaghi has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and delivered national and international presentations on sports medicine, cartilage restoration, and orthopedic surgery.He completed a prestigious Traveling Fellowship with the International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society (ICRS), training in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany with a focus on knee joint preservation and cartilage treatments. He also completed a Research Fellowship at the AO Research Institute in Davos, Switzerland, concentrating on infection prevention in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Ojaghi is dedicated to patient-centered care, with a focus on empowering patients to take an active role in their treatment and recovery. He strives to combine advanced surgical expertise with compassionate care to help each patient return to the activities they enjoy.
His surgical expertise spans the knee, shoulder, and elbow, with a focus on ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability surgeries, shoulder replacement, Tommy John surgery, patellar stabilization procedures, cartilage injury treatments and restoration, and tennis elbow surgery.
